OK here's the latest one I have of mine. Straight shelf with head unit mounted to the under passenger side. There are small cheap speaker pods mounted under each end of the parcel shelf as well. ![]() Your welcome to copy it because personally I think it looks revolting. Custom dash is in design stage for mine. |

My uncle has a mate with a really cool hot rod he built for his wife, anyway, to keep the dash original and uncluttered, the head unit is mounted in the roof, and the fabric surrouds it. It looks really good, maybe something like that would work. Another thing would be to put it under the rear seats, in the centre to stay away from legs, but you'd have to have a remote for it. The speakers could sit either side, keeping the wiring simple. |

When I had a clubman I made a cardboard template to fill the hole dash from the gages to the passeger side door jamb & the made cut outs for a gauge & sitch panel in the top midle & a cut out for a cd in the center midle . Transfered it to MDF put some bolts through to pick up the hooks on the back of dash edge then covered it with padding & back vinal. PS and a cut out for a glove box to stick your arm through to do the bolts up. Sorry I didn't Take pics. |

this is the dash im my clubbie, i dont have the face on my cd player but you can see it anyways. Since this pic was taken ive put a hinged "glovebox" door in the dash but with no actual box so its just the normal shelf behind there, hard to find things sometimes haha. Im still working on a better way to mount it though ![]() |

Hey, Kasper flipped My aluminium dash looks almost exactly like that I have 3 guages though I found mounting was OK cause I had my aluminium bent and it pushes back against the the fire wall bit just above the wheel arches which stops it going in too far. I then used the two screw holes that held the old clubman radio to hold a aluminium strip that stops the dash falling in your lap. Maybe something similar could work for yours ? How did you hold your guages up nice and tight to the aluminium? I had to put a screw through and tighten it up but other than that and the two screws that mounted in the holes where the radio was there are no screws on the dash face. I did a glove box, I used Piano hinge and rivets (not pop rivets but the ones you bash with a ball peen hammer) It looks nice and neat I was also able to get a cam lock / latch which if you bend the cam can fit nicely behind the top clubman dash pad. Just Ideas I thought might help ![]() |

My gauges are held in place by screwing into 4 little pieces of square tube aluminum that has been "metal glued" to the dash, and my dials were made by me at my work and all of it cost me zip, both of these are the perks of working in a sign manufacturing business i guess!! ![]() |
