hey guys just got my car registered 2 day went to drive it to my nans to show her and she was getting hot very hot so i waited for it to cool down and came home still getting hot now i have put a brand new thermostate in it i herd that the ones from repco are no good is that true i herd they dont let enough water thru ?

Could be any old thing, but see how the thermostat works for you. Its only a slight chance that it is the problem.

It could be poor timing, poor mixture, a corroded waterpump, a clogged up radiator or dirty block.

You have to present with the facts before you can ask for anything more than a guess.

You will have to tell us if the carby is tuned (or not), the timing is correct(or not), and the condition of the cooling system as above, otherwise its just a silly, expensive and time wasting stab in the dark.
