ive found a piccy of the set of 5 rims i got with my parts car 1275LS shell no engine Grr  . So ive found out what they are from and its a Honda civic Gen1 they are Magnum turbos 12x5inch http://www.boostcruising.com/forums/ind ... &id=616049
now ive been thinking can i fit a larger tyre on the rim like a 6inch or 7inch tyre? |

They will be the wrong PCD if off a honda civic unless redrilled. Be very careful as it could snap a wheelstud. PCD would be 4" on a mini 4 x 101.6mm Honda is 4 x 100mm Close but not close enough. |

Tire width is not in inches, measure the width of the rim from bead to bead and then you can see what will safely fit. |

The 4 x 100 mm PCD defs wont fit. I could get a really good set of rims that were 4 x 100. They looked like they would fit, but didnt. Good luck anyway. |

well i went and had a talk to a tyre fitter about my plans He is going to sort me out. and i plan on getting the set of tyres taken off the rims Polishing em up and getting new ones tyres fitted. Now im abit worryed about this PCD how can i correctly measure the PCD or should it be written on the inside of the wheel? can this be fixed Legaly? |

In the past (ages ago) some mag wheel places used to do it, either by redrilling another pattern of holes or machining the existing holes bigger but on the desired PCD, and fitting shouldered steel sleeves. No idea if they still do it here, as most cheap mags now are imported. |

The Honda rims will already have steel sleeves pressed in, so this may make it more difficult. I've thought about the option of getting the Hubs redrilled/machined to 100mm and using bigger studs (like Honda do) to suit the plethora or 100mmPCD Rims available. Though I haven't looked into this seriously. I have a set of vented rotors off a US Civic that have been machined down, and use 83/84 Prelude Calipers. If I then use CRX/Civic rear disks, this may make the whole operation easier. Could also run full size Prelude Disks on the front and fit 13" wheels..... Not sure of the logistics yet, but our Maintenance guy at Work is a Mechanical Engineer and still has his Workshop fitted out with all the gear you'd expect. Dicko |

First gen Civics are not 4x100. From memory (rusty) they are 4x110. |

They were 110 I think, but can't remember exactly what they were. From 80 onwards they went to 100mm. The disks I have are off an 83/84 US Civic so are vented, unlike the Aus equivalent. Since getting the disks, I picked up a set of Cooper S Disks/Calipers/hubs for $300 so they are going on the road car. The Honda brakes will go on my next project, yet to be determined. Dicko |

hmm well How can i get a accurate PDC measurment?? and the mini PDC is 101.6mm, i thought it was like 108mm |

Darken - it's PCD - Pitch Circle Diameter.  If you're looking at one that's roughly 100 PCD, it might pay to measure to the outside of the studs/holes (longest dimension across them), then to the inside of the studs/holes (shortest), add, then divide by two. It can be hard to tell the difference between 100 and 101.6 (4" - 4*25.4=101.6) - you don't have to be far off with your estimation of the centre of the studs to get it wrong.

Measure from the outside edge of one hole to the inside edge of the diagonally opposite hole. Use a decent ruler or measuring tape. |

maybe you should decide whether you actually want to use the wheels or not, before you start spending money on them.... they're not real pretty IMO |
