| Post subject: | how much water flow.... |
just wanting to find out if my water pump is working ok(ie its still there and not rusted away!) Currently doing the termostat housing gasket so top hose and output off so looking at it flush with head, wondering if i can get an idea of how much water i should see move? if you get me!?

Fill it to level and start the engine with some throttle. The water won't fly out too hard but a fair bit should get pushed out. 1 - 2L I prefer to test flow by removing a heater hose and starting. |

It's not that difficult to remove the water pump. Just need a replacement gasket. I have seen some REALLY rusty pump impellers... If you suspect that the pump is not working well then it'd be worth removing to have a look. |
