Was helping out a mate, getting his moke to his new workshop, as he can't drive manual yet.

It had the best of everything, 1275 supercharged engine, with front disc brakes, and pretty much every part on the car was new.

Brand new, first time it touched the road since the rebuild that took about 2 years, just got passed for rego recently and I got to drive it about 50km, to its new destination :)

Interesting drive to say the least, lol. About 30km into the trip, i heard something drop onto the road, on the highway, and the engine doing 100kim on the highway, suddenly became much louder, looked behind, to see the back end of the exhaust and muffler rolling away, lol. interesting to say the least, lucky no one was behind me, couldn't stop either, so kept going. Stoped when i could and found the rest of the exhaust was hanging and hitting the ground every so often, but couldn't do anything but looked like it would hold and then about another 10km, the next bit of exhaust fell off, by then the manifold was the only thing left, lol only had about 10 kms to go, so i plodded on causely. Tho i must say for a 1275 supercharged, idling at traffic lights, and taking off, was quite a sight, everyone was looking at me, and as im sure you all know, it sounded pretty tough 8) and bloody noisy. Was pretty much def by the time i got there, but it was all part of the fun, lol.

Though i must say it was a privilege to drive it, and loads of fun, never driven a moke b4, and specially not a 1275 supercharged!

It has made me realize that i still love mini's and now mokes :P and the enjoyment i get out of them :) and can't get out of the mini business, like i thought i would. :?

Here are some pics and video's, just to amuse those who would like to watch.

That looks like a Choke, not a Moke....

Not that there is anything wrong with that I guess... once you manage to get it registered somehow.

Choke alright, how did they go getting the rego, as a new car or did they rebirth an oldie?
Just need some decent wheels and tyres to go with the supercharged power.

got any shots under the bonnet?

nothing against the car, but if i saw you driving like that with a camera in your hand and not even looking at the road, i would be straight onto the cops.

Love the moke...I remember when my mate and I took his datsun 200b out with no rear exhaust...the whole thing broke from the collector pipe..
worked motor extractors wild cam etc plus twin webbers too....crist it was loud...everyone just moved out of our way...was so much fun.
as for taking a video whilest driving...we all do silly things now and again but at least this way we all got to see how excited you were in driving it.
no harm done just a lot of fun.

Is it the skinny wheels or is the choke body wider than the moke?

i presume by the word choke, you are meaning chinnese import stuff, or something like that??? I know nothing about mokes, lol only mini's. Buy yea the moke, is all stuff from overseas, not my choice, but his. The wheels are about 4 inch wide, mayb 4.5 i dunno.

It's a bit like the "rolex" watch that BIAM wears, you can just tell by looking at it that came it ain't a real one.

Side pods have no covers,
SHS tube along bottom of sidepods,
cheapo chinese wheels,
etc.
