Check your engine steady bars and the bushes in them , also your engine mounts . Sounds like the engine could be moving more than it's meant to .

Is this a 3 Speed sync Or a 4 Spd Sync Gearbox

It's a 4 speed sync gearbox.

Then it is more likley to be one of the following. engine mounts, Gear lever worn, ( the slot on the side of the gearlever wears and sometimes does not allow proper selection of gears ) the connecting coupling and or roll pins worn, This is not to say that it does not have internal problems, But I would check above mentioned items first

On a similar note, my gearbox jumps out of reverse, only under power and not on the over run. Any suggestions welcome.

Also check the knuckles behind the engine they might be loose on the splines. Tighten the bolts that clamp them on. You will know that it is this fault as the gear lever will feel like a stick in a bucket. Therefor gear lever will reach the limit of travel before it engages the gear fully.

I have checked the mounts and replaced the Bushes on the steady bar, It still has the problem, seems to be worse will not pick up 1st gear at all just the sound of the teeth running over the top of each other? :?
