Have a friend who is a seemstress that makes custom car covers for top end cars. These usually retail around $750-$1200 per car. I have one fitted to my lotus, they are made of thick scratch resistent fleecy material, and are purpose shaped to your car. They are not waterproof but are designed to keep your car spotless when its not being used. Anyway I have asked her to make one for my S. Given the size of the car and simplicity of the shape she has offered to make them for others as well, so am guaging interest. They will come as a very snug fit, contouring to the cars shape. They will come in either black or green and embroidered with one of 3 things, either the MK 2 cooper S bonnet badge as a large emblem (about the size of a side plate), a MK 1 bonnet badge emblem or the words MINI across the front. Dont get me wrong this is not your Supercheap crap car cover, it will be top quality. They will cost around $350 plus postage to Ausmini members. That is a wholesale price to us. Just guaging interest. WIll post pics of my one in next couple of weeks. For a small fee extra she will do it in a custom colour to match your car. If this is something people would be interested in let me know and I will pass it on. She would be ready to take orders in about 4 weeks after fettling to get the shape right on my car. Ps will make for clubby as well as round nose. |
