it looks like a screw like thing but im not sure what i need .

Hmmm, can't remember what they are called (maybe something with the work 'cock' in it, maybe petcock). You can get them from auto one or supercrap. They have a tube, with a little metal ring around the end, then a screw on cover, the metal ring and cover work together to seal it. Hard to explain. Someone else will be able to help.

you need an oil pressure line to go from the back of gauge to the sender....

So i just looked it up, and they are not called petcock. The thing I was thinking of are called olives and they are the little Olive shaped things in the picture above. The tube nuts slip over the tube, then the olive goes on. You then screw the tube nuts onto the gauge, and the the olives bite into the tube causing it to seal.

I had to replace my tube after routing it too close to the extractors when putting the engine back in. I wondered where all the smoke was coming from...

FINALLY!! Something that I can contribute to. I used to run a tool shop for a truck and trailer smash repairs. Going by the picture above with the white nylon tube, it is a nut and olive setup! Anything from 1/4" (6mm) up you use what is called a spigot inside the end of the tube as well. They hold like sh*t to a blanket aswell!
If the tube (line) is a 5/32" then you can use a "roadranger olive".
All the nuts, olives, and spigots are redily available from any truck parts suppliers (Gleemans, Hiways, etc) or places like Industrial Fitting sales, Blackwoods, Express Industrial Supplies, etc.
These questions I can answer!

Always make sure that tis white pipe rests on the exhaust manifole before it gets to the gauge ...NOT.
I bought my first Mini with a blown up engine because of one of these tubes installed too long and it say on the extractors till it melted and let all the oil get pumped out till engine had no oil to run on. BANG.

Would be worth finding out. Tachos from late 1996 onwards won't work on a carby engine.
