Has anyone got a mini buggy? Many years ago we made a buggy by joining front & rear mini subframes together, made brackets for the steering rack, colume, pedal box etc. It had a proper wiring loom, 2 std mini seats, 10' wheels & drum brakes and a small petrol tank to supply a std 850 engine. It even had a speedo! (it was very well made) The buggy would be driven up & down the street on saturday arvos while we all stood around drinking beer & laughing. When you braked the rear wheels would lift of the ground and of course one of the guys was going a little bit too fast one day (it went very very fast) and when he braked it tiped over and nearly killed him (broken arm, sore head etc) so we decided to cut it up in case it did acually kill someone one day. I would love to make another one!!! :D

Ive seen something like this near my parents house...they live in myrtelford..where all the tabaco was made untill a year ago....they call them tabaco buggies...used for going inbetween the fields etc as they cause no dammage to the plants.
theres still some up here but they look scarry...
basicaly someones idear of a cheap quad bike..
I no they use mini parts as someone once offered me one for parts.
but there allways left outside in the weather so most would be rusted up now.

I've had the idea for a while to use two front subframes and make a tube steel chassis and have 2 seats. That way it can be either front, rear or all wheel drive :P and it would also double as an engine tester set-up.
So many ideas so little time :roll: .

That's exactly what a mate near Geelong has done. His buggy has two Auto subframes. He runs a 1275 (1100S) Auto in the back and uses the front to test engines. At one stage he was testing the 1275 Auto thats now in my Moke, so it was twinny auto. Great fun!
