Greeting's all,
I have just purchased what I believe is a genuine Cooper S Mk1 Engine, head and gearbox. The numbers are as follow's:
Engine AFSAY41169
Head AEG183
Gearbox #22G1128
Could some one with more knowledge than me (ask your kids) verify that these are genuine so I can sleep at night.
Any help, good or bad would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Brendan

Engine # for Mk1 should be 9F/SA/Y*****
Head AEG183 does not exist, AEG163 is correct, or 12A185
Gearbox 22G1128 you quote is a Mk2 (or `possibly' Mini-K) 4 synchro. It was common to change them back then.
Original Mk1 1275S used a 22G333 (3 synchro)

Hope this helps.

That 8 could be a 6, it's a little hard to tell.I thought I'd be safe and put that AEG 183 there in case it was a code for another model. Thanks for your help.

8)
Later MK1/1.5 cars used the commonised 22A1288 3 synchro remote change casing.
