Post subject: | Losing brake fluid |
Hi. On Saturday morning, I noticed there are a run of fluid running beside my car that something look like brake fluid. Opened the bonnet to check the reservoir for the brake fluid, is empty! Topped back up so I can drive it to my mechanic to get it check out. He said the leak is coming from the pressure reducing valve hydraulic union or regulator. This part is gold looking and got 2 pipes connect to the top and 2 pipes connect to the bottom. So I might need a new one or to recondition my one. Does anyone know where can I get a new one or to get my one recondition? Is a 1989 Rover Mini. Also once I topped up to brake fluid to max and been checking the level since then, actually I am not losing and brake fluid for some reason, checked the it still said max, anyone know what's going on? |

that sounds like the Pohmy valve which we didn`t get here in Aust cars,,, only 2 pipes in the top & 2 in the bottom & gold in colour sounds just like it to me,,, & if it is, then it`s a failure concious valve & not a pressure reducing valve,,, but i`d like to see a pic before i say for sure & i`ve not seen too many of them but i have been told they can some times leak i`d get a 2nd opinion on where the leak is commin from for sure first,,, maybe it`s an intermitant leak & will leak , then won`t, then will, then won`t,,, if you know what i mean either way it sounds dangerous so i`d make sure you get it sorted |
