Hey guys, How hard will it be to put a 1275 in beefa? At the moment he has a 1100 in it and I'd like to drop a 1275 in him (damn my fiance for getting me into Minis!). I just need some ideas on the stuffing around that is involved! Thanks ![]() Lynda |

Damn I hope not. That costs an arm and a leg to put disc brakes on! |

its not particularly expensive to convert to discs if you dont mind going to bigger wheels. the bigger wheel will then be the major expense... but for the money you spend on a 1275 you can ring some major power gains out of your 1100.. will try and find a few links others have given me on the subject |

Apart from that and getting a 1275 donk (with primary gear) it's pretty easy! It'll fit OK on all 4 synchro boxes. On 3 synchro boxes with a bit of checking. On early 850 boxes with major surgery (I did that once). ![]() |

HMMM, sounds like a head ache if I have to put disc brakes on him. What can I do to squeeze more power from the 1100? |

1152 is good, and pistons are available. 1220 is pushing it, and pistons (Hillman Imp) are like rocking horse dung here now. ![]() |

![]() You want more power and you don't want to upgrade the brakes. That can't be good for him.... ![]() |

Ok so if I bore him out to 1152 will it make the walls of the bore weaker? I just want to get as much infor as I can before I do it |

I just want to get as much infor as I can before I do it No problem- 1152 is a standard factory piston oversize (+.060"). Safe to bore that far, definitely. |
