Any one put them in?

The trumpet kind.

I have seen them mounted behind the front number plate.

i don't know how they work, how does that compressor work, where does it hook upto?

:) toot toot

behind number plate is great , inner guard for compressor, and toggle switch or horn button for using it,

There pretty easy wiring up, you will need to get a longer hose from compressor to horns if mounting behind number plate

I use a Stebel Nautilus they have an air horn sound though they are electric, and the are f**k off loud. i think 139dB. they are tiny as well so mounting them in a mini engine bay is easy as, also being electric you dont have to worry about comperssors and stuff. look em up on ebay, some videos of them on youtube as well.

I had a set of triples once. I still have them. I think they are still in there. They used to work fine.
I liked beeping them in the Argyle St carpark in Hobart. It sounded like a train tooting.
Funny.

I had them attatched to the side under the bonnet near the drivers side wheel.
I stuck the wire through the speedo calbe hole and along the side behind the seat hole to the battery. But that's probably the hard way to do it.

Then Allan came along and had a better idea.
And they have never worked since :(

I have a pair if Fiamm Italian metal trumpet air horns (ex my Fiat 124 Sport) under the LH guard. Pointed forwards and down so water doesn't get in.
Compressor is mounted near the wiper motor.
They work fine- touch lightly and one toots, lean on em hard and they both say "get the **** outta my way...".

Try finding space for airhorns in an EFI Mini with A/C. There's just no room.

I ended up finding these beaut Hella electric horns. Very loud and BMW'ish type sound. The shape was very similar to the original Mini horn, except there are now two. I mounted one where the original horn was and the other in front of the ECU.

I'd definitely recommend them.

Can't tell you the brand we have but they are under the drivers side Gaurd. The shorter you have the hose from the compressor to the horns means less lag

I've got airhorns.......they're fantastic! Really let the big cars know that you mean business.

I'll take a photo for you tomorrow after work.

yeah just replace the old horn with the new one, have to put a relay in but it gives you instructions on how to do it, they are sweet horns

Just get two stock horns and hook them up using a relay.

Can't beat Italian air horns IMO. Good enough for Ferrari...
If buying air horns, real metal trumpets sound way better than Chinese plastic ones.
