should these two points be connected? i just noticed it..

also, im going to try and start it for the first time, i have never driven let alone started one a mini before, so any advice/tips with the choke, accelerator... its a clubman 1100, the person i bought it off had it running about 6 months ago, but couldnt get it started for me when i bought it as it had dirty fuel, dead battery..
Any advice would be great..

Fuel won't get to the carby if they're not. Short length of fuel hose with a clip each end will do the trick

small bit of fuel hose between it... a fuel filter later on to keep it all together, just check the tank is connected first...

since its been sitting, make sure you crank it over (with the lead from the coil off) till you get oil pressure. check the oil, water and fuel floats that everything is as its supposed to be. then crank her over
