Laurie was a mini enthusiast who lived at Tyndale and came on virtually every run we had with the Lismore group . First in his yellow clubman and then , after it had been written off from being rear ended at a pedestrian crossing , in his gunmetal clubman van . Unfortunately the van was also written off several years later when Laurie took a bit of a turn while driving and ran off the road into a fence . He was well known around the area with mini people and a constant joker , he was also very independent to the point I only found out he had passed from a notice in the paper today saying he had been privately cremated as per his wishes (Laurie had planned and paid for his funeral 20 or so years ago , he wanted to be organised and not leave anyone else the drama's of sorting it out) . Laurie had no family locally and only a Niece and her family west of Brisbane somewhere but will be sorely missed by his friends . I'll be raising a glass or two for him tonight .
