Post subject:  Fuel Cells...

Ive seen a few fuel cells fitted to mini's, and am seriously thinking of putting one in the centre of the boot to replace the original, but not sure of the legalities of doing so in NSW.

Does the installation need to be covered by engineer cert, do you have to use the external filler, is there any regulations using different materials (stainless/alloys) etc....?

Or is it just not worth the hassle, and simply go get a larger rover one :P

Cheers

Hey Guys,

To get mine engineered the only requirement my engineer gave me was to change the battery to a drycell alternative. I had my filler in the boot still.

I just got an old tank and cut the lip off it, or you could buy a dummy neck and used this to fill the hole from the original tank.

You could also run a hose from this to and adaptor on top of the tank if you still wanted to fill from the normal position but i chose to keep it simple.

I can't remember the size, it's either 35 or 45L but you couldn't go any bigger than what i did in the boot of a mini.
