Post subject: | Type Of Carbs to Use |
I have a 1380 and I have had a set of Twin 1.25 su on it and it had a lot more low down torque but lack the top end. I have since put on a 1.75 Hif Su carb and have found that the Low down torque has been lost nut I have got greater Top end. I was justing wanting to know if a set of Twins 1.5 Su carbs in either HIF or Normal would be better in giving me the same low down Tourque as the 1.25 and the top end as the 1.75. |

It's my experience that twins always are better for torque than a single SU. I think they would give better top end as well, if large enough. Twin HS4s do work pretty well on a 1380.... but... why not fit a 45DCOE Weber or a 45DHLA Dellorto instead? Easy to tune and keep that way. No freakin' needles... ![]() |

Yeah a 45 would be good but they use more fuel and u have to cut out a hole in the fire wall or make a new air box in the fire wall. Thats to much trouble when the motor is in the car. |

Hmmm..,. mine is pretty good on fuel, considering the HP (around 115) and there's no hole cut in the firewall.... ![]() Depends what manifold and filter you use. If you use a Redline 3005 manifold and a Lynx Ramflo 441S filter, it does (just) fit. Mini Classic (in Ermington, Sydney) have these manifolds at the moment for around $120. email me for a few pics.. ![]() |
