I'm bursting out of my skin here. Finally got a chance to test out the new gear. Learned a great deal just taking these and obviously still plenty to learn. Was a bit rushed for time. I'm putting together a package for people wanting photoshoots of their cars. Might need a couple of cars over the next couple of weeks to test the gear, PM me if you are available for a couple of hours any afternoons over the next couple of weeks.

Nice shots. What are you shooting from? You must only be a couple of metres from the trailing car, surely? |

At a guess I'd say the car is stationary and he's standing in front/beside? |

No, the car IS moving. I'll have another couple of test runs and take come "behind the scenes shots" . Here is one taken my the guy I bought the gear off, this is what I'm aiming for (when it's not dark).

i know how it's done. 
an arm is placed on the car, usually by suction, and on the end of the arm is a mount for the camera, a long exposure is put on the camera so the background is blurred or pulled and the car isn't. Am i correct? |

Having looking into doing some similar shots to the first pic for a client, we decided the logistics didn't fit the budget. The shutter speed (blur) indicates it's shot from a leading vehicle, and the wide angle dictates getting really close to the trailing car - not easy to arrange on a public road. The yellow falcon pic is superb - again, I'm guessing you've got a camera rig bolted to the rear of the car? And that you do this for a living, quite successfully? |

The yellow car is not my pic but give me a couple of days and I'll be there. Yes, the camera is attached to the car and a long exposure is used with the car moving slowly. I'm just working out, shutter speed v aparture v car speed to get the right combination. I'll check out the info on the upcoming mini run and may drop on by and grab some shots.

i like that, looks cool, imo, looks like your using too high an iso, personally i would bump up the exposure maually to get some artificiall light, and i would try an apeture of about 8-11 . thats just me, let me know what works for you, that pic of the yellow car is well cool! looks like they stole my camera and have it hanging from the front of the car! |

The nikon D70 only has a minimum ISO of 200 and there is no way I'm handing my 1ds from this contraption. |
