This morning I had a set of Yokohama A008's fitted by Stuckey Tyres in Sydney Rd, Brunswick in Melbourne and just wanted to relate my experience for the benefit of others.

They were absolutely fantastic to deal with -- I rang out of the blue asking if they could get A008's, not expecting any success as they're apparently so hard to come by. Jeff there made a call and was back to me in 10 minutes with the affirmative, promising fitment within a week.

5 days later, they're on my car for $138 ea fitted and balanced. They also did a full wheel alignment (camber/caster/toe on the front, camber/toe on the rear) to my specs on their amazing computer/laser alignment rig while I watched.

Jeff did say the tyres were hard to come by, but snapped up a dozen (8 of which are now sold) and says he can get more if he gets orders for them.

Just wanted to pass on the good word.. these guys were fantastic to deal with, did what they promised, when they said they would, and for a good price 8)

Wish I knew that. I rang all over Melbourne and ended up getting mine from Minisport (good on them for getting some in too). Does this mean A008's are still being made?

I suspect they're being made in batches when there's enough demand, but that's just a guess.

They seem to be easy to get in the UK, like 12' A048's i think that yokohama just limit the supply to australasia.

I can back up everything Simon has said. Have been dealing with Jeff via email and he's been very helpful in arranging to get a set delivered to my house, and has offered free fitment and balancing when I'm back in Aus. (paid the same price as simon for the tyres).

Can't wait to go blasting through the dandenongs on some decent rubber. bit hairy on Flakens!

Absolutely. This sums them up -- the guy who mounted and fitted the tyres came over as I was about to leave, and advised me to nip up the wheel nuts after about 50kms or so, because he was being careful and didn't want to overtighten them. Great service..

The rumours of them not being available have been slinging around for a long time now. I would like to know the real story one of these days...

Jeff did say they were a bitch to find, and he nabbed all the stock that the supplier had on hand. He also told me he'd be able to get more if people ordered them, so they obviously know something we don't..
