I just need a photo of what a rod change box looks like in the floor from the inside of the car.

is the metal all flush around. or is it all hiden with carpet?
A car with an original rod change would be great to see how it's mounted?

I'm getting some one to weld the floor & fit the rod change gearbox as there was this massive chunk cut out before i got the car..

thanks guys. :)

I do not know if this helps but the hole in the floor is the same shape and size as a remote control type gearbox has. The Hole is Aprox 6" by 4"

Do the two types use the same mounting holes in the body or are there different ones?

Hi NG,

I have a feeling there is a difference between the hole in the rod change and remote change floors in the minis, but I could be wrong.
Don't have a photo, but my Dad and I had to bolt a piece of steel across the back right corner of the hole, then drill a new hole for the top mount of the rod changer. Can't remember whether things were flush, so don't know if this helps...

ok, thanks.

there is this massive hole in my floor! some one originally cut the hell out of the floor to fit the remote change into the traveller.

they have now fitted the rod change, i was hoping it has been done right.. it does look like he has done a very good job.

just wanted to see what it originally looked like is all.

I'm sure they have done a good job. like they did with my center console :?
they said they will pay for a replacement thank god..

all i can do is laugh.

Those holes in the UK car above are nothing like what's in an Oz tunnel.
As John Smidt says, the holes in ours for both remote and rodchange are nearly the same...
Almost. There is a very slight difference in position is all.
