Hi guys, i'm just about to get my new 1275 engine dropped into my clubby...YEAH! upgrading from a 998... undecided on what colour to paint the engine???

I'm going to get the engine bay re-sparayed in black just to tidy things up while the engine is out. i was thinking for the engine maybe silver??
my car is a dark blue a bit darker than WRX blue.

any suggestions and pics would be much a appreciated :) thanx guys.

Dark coloured engines hide oil stains and road grime much better than silver. I also think the gearbox and clutch covers look best in the aluminium though, LOL.

Here is a shot i stole from Lachie:

Black and chrome is a definate classic look, and would complement the dark(ish) blue of the car. Otherwise, go for the same colour as the car?

Cheers
M

Wow - you can mark my car at this year's muster Shane. That engine bay is too clutered - just a 3/10 for me. :P

:P to many different colours in this engine bay....it also looks to cluttered, i dont understand why the owner would want to open the bonnet to show people let alone be judged on it. :P

Here's a pic of Animal's engine bay:

Image

(Got a 9 out of 10 for those who were wondering     )

Shows how some good old fashioned colour coordination and chrome shiny stuff can really look the goods! Not that it's really show quality, it is a race car engine

Hope this helps

Matt

Pfft , you'll probably put a lock on your engine bay this year so I can't judge it just like I couldn't judge your locked boot last time ....

Yeah , and he told me later that his mum was watching the car to open the boot for the judging but didn't think I looked like a judge
