Hey, Just wondering what a 1098cc is capable off? I know theres been a few turbo ones done which are producing really good power. but yeh i was just wondering what they can do (without turbo or supercharger) because i havent seen to many build threads using a modified 1098cc. Blake |

Depends - enough or too much or not very much depending on your point of view. It also is determined by 1098cc of what. 1098cc of petrol has alot more kick than 1098cc of corn flakes. But I think 1098cc of uranium would give you the best power - but how to to control it I dont know. This type of question the new How Fast? |

I agree 1098cc of Uranium would give you more of a kick than 1098cc of corn flakes but it in this case im looking at 1098cc of mini engine!!! |

How about destroking a Toyota Starlet turbo engine to 1098cc - I think that would be hard to beat. |

Their are a few over sized 1098 donks that have been built and make decent BHP. If your only keeping the standard bore and just working the head, induction and lightening/balancing the internals you might get 50 maybe 60 at the treads  if your really lucky.
IMO theirs no real good reason to build a 1098cc engine for big power unless you over bore it because you will be pi$$ing your money against a wall. |

Graham Russell got 95HP at the crank (on a proper engine dyno) from a roady 1098 a few years ago. Bore was +.040" (1132cc). Cam was RE13. All you needed to know and were afraid to ask is here- http://www.minimania.com/web/SCatagory/ ... ticleV.cfm read the folllowing 2 sections as well (just click button at bottom of page). You can go to 1188cc now with Graham's +.100" pistons. |

yeh i wasnt just thinking about standard 1098cc, i was meaning using the block as a base and going crazy. Thanks Ive just had abit of a read and looks interesting. |

my modded 1098 goes well. it is bored out 40thou and has a worked head. 1 1/2 su on worked standard manifold. 3-1 extractors. goes as well as i want her to... when she is going and she currently isn't. haven't got any power read out yet though hen is the mini muster? or the sydney equivalent? |

There you go Blake, 1098 100thou GR pistons, 12G295 head ported to give you 11.1 compression, kent 310 scatter cam, twin 1 3/4 SU,s ( needle chosen by the tuner ), lightened and balanced internals,12 pound steel flywheel,full straight cut gears, custom KAD 5 speed gearbox, 3.7.1 LSD.

Better leave the gudgeon pin circlips out then, they will go BANG like mine did in 1968 (and Benjamin's did recently). PTFE gudgeon buttons instead are the go. GR makes em.

I worked an 1098... there's a thread and some video and some pictures on here somewhere. I reckon there's heaps of them in the works at the moment... just search I dont have a dyno figure yet because I cant register the thing untill I find a passenger side seat belt for it. I have basically done everything I could (within reason) If I get Fiddy I will die a happy man. |

by only allowing one neutron from the fission process to split another nuclei. you absorb the other couple of loose neutrons using an absorbtion rod. if you let all the loose neutrons split other nuclei we'll have another hiroshima on our hands... but it would depend which isotope of uranium. U-235 will give good results |

Quick question. How much pressure have people put on their flywheels etc to remove it? Ive just put about 140ft/lb on it. I know they get stuck on there pretty well but yeh just wondering. Thanks Blake |
