hey everyone

ive got a 1275cc... wat size extractors should i get?

at the moment it has 3into1 extractors that came off my old 1100cc.. i think they are similar to this... http://minisport.com.au/prod356.htm

will getting a better LBC setup make much difference? ....
was thinking maybe this? http://minisport.com.au/prod1336.htm

ill go measure the diameter of the extractors outa the head tomoro, but how big should they be for a 1275?

also... my muffler is quite loud... it sounds mean but bit to loud, wat kind of muffler should i get? i still want it to sound mean... but not so mean the neighbors complain wen i come home ahha

any suggestions appreciated :)

I don't know if that one is any better than the regular Maniflow medium bore LCB.
I tend to use this one http://minisport.com.au/prod73.htm
and so do many others here.
I have one on my 1360 (86.6HP ATW) and another going on the 1412 (113.6HP at the crank).
There is also a Chinese Maniflow copy that is cheaper still? and supposed to be good.

a common 3-1 works OK on a 1275 if the motor doesn't have heaps done to it. Our 1293 (twin HS4 carbs, Wade 104 cam, 1.5 rockers) made 59.4HP ATW with one similar to this-

Fuel economy was good too.

ahh rightyo...

mines 1310cc, Kent road/race 286 cam, big valve head (needs porting/polishing ect..), 45mm delorto, few other things... goes alright... but i want more :P

Have you had the Dellorto tune correctly and do you know what the diff size is...other than that has the head had any work done to it

What about the Brownrigg units from Melbourne???

I've been hearing all sorts of negative comments recently about Maniflow.

Maniflow do work well, but yeah the flanges never were flat, were they. :lol:
I wonder if the Chinese ones are better made..... it would be a first if they are. :lol:

Hmm...no problems from two of the chinese ones so far....

You do have to relieve the center flange if you want to fit twin SU's however. Relieve sounds harsh however, simply grind a radius on the top of the center flange.....

They are if you hand them a cylinder head and have the manifold tailor made to fit

No idea power wise, but they are very free flow from their build. Noise is much improved, they sound great on a 1 3/4" system with a RC40.

Get them from any of the usual mini supplier culprits... @ around 230 or so...

The improvement you'll get from porting a head is directly proportional to the expertise of the person doing the porting ;)

Grinding a head is a very good way to make more power, especially if you're starting with a stock item.. but you can make things worse if you don't know what you're doing.
