Post subject: | Block removal |
Hey, a quick question. To remove the block from the gearbox, ive undone the dozen bolts around where the block joins the gearbox, removed the flywheel etc. but i was wondering do i need to remove all the bolts from inside where the clutch was? and do i need to remove the cover at the other end and remove the cam? Also to pull the block off do i just pull it upwards or is there a "fancy" way of doing it? Sorry if these questions are stupid but i just want to make sure im doing it right Thanks Blake |

Did you remove the alloy clutch housing and drop gears? The engine won't separate from the box until you do. |

You will need to remove the entire alloy clutch/flywheel housing if you haven't already (I'm assuming that's still on from your "all the bolts from inside where the clutch was" question) , also check at the very front of the motor (timing chain end) to see if you haven't missed any bolts hidden in there . We've all missed a bolt at some time or another and have cursed trying to split the motor and the box . |
