Post subject:  gearbox seperation

I am trying to seperate the gearbox from the block so far i have taken the flywheel/clutch and cover of and have removed the 12 7/16 bolts is that all of them?? do i now just lift the engine off?is there a place to use asuitable wedge if the thing is a bit sticky ??

Double check you have taken all the flange bolts out (including the 2 short ones behind the timing cover).
Then use a big screwdriver between the rear main bearing cap and the web on the gearbox.
Note there are 2 dowels in the flange at the back, so lift it up straight.

i did notice the dowls / and the 2 bolts behind the timing cover the one at the rear was a long one though :? was realy unsure of where to pry it apart thanx 4 the quik reply

lift the engine a couple of inches with a crane and a few taps with a soft hammer around the gearbox case will shake it loose
