Hi All, I need some info from someone who has done floorpans b4. I have a donor car arriving nxt sat and need to know wherte to start as i dont want to bugger it up. Should i brace the shell, if so where? Is it better to put in the floor as a whole or do it in sections, will it be easier to roll the car on its side or leave it on its wheels? The rust has gone half way up the tunnel and also the c section that the seats bolt onto , should i replace the tunnel and c section as well or just patch the rust. ![]() any advice would be great |

Clean all the areas on both cars and work out where the rust extends to. Get the repaired car on level blocks and weld tube braces [2" square ]diagonall across the floor area onto the top of the sill /door panels. Work out the line for cutting and try to do it in one piece if the donor floor is good. Cut donor floor bigger then grind to fit. I fit them from underneath with some threaded bar welded to the floor and run the bar thru some tubes welded to the cross tube braces. This allows you to raise and lower the floor to get a good fit and to hold it in position when you clamp up and weld |
