This afternoon I was heading home in Pops (with his shinny new Club Plates) and a guy, maybe about 16 ish, leant out his window and gave me 2 thumbs up, and said "that is the coolest car man!!" 8)

Doesn't that make you feel good!

What is the best admiration story you have experiencded in your Mini?

Anton, you know I don't exactly think my car is the hottest on the road, well you should have seen the people admiring it at Motorfest on Australia Day. Best Feeling having total strangers coming up to you and telling you how cool your car is!! You should bring pops down next year, or JAM if he's ready!

When i moved Slidey from my nans place (where he was first garaged) to the townhouse complex i am living at now.......

I drove in the gates, it was a Sunday arvo about 2 weeks ago, and there where little kids and parents in the complex pool, which you have to drive past to get to our townhouse, and as i went past, the pool emptied 8) .....

I had about 10-12 kids running after me, and when i got to our townhouse it was like a media scrum you see when someone famous is being interviewed..... quite scary really, there were kids looking in and around him, the dads asking me about engine specs and what the hell is the roof sliding like that, and the mums saying "how cute" 8)

Was a crazy afternoon, but it was the closest i will ever come to feeling famous

Hey, at least someone didn't call it siiick bro

I had a pretty nice stereo in my old commodore and a guy I used to work with told me it was sick. I asked him what was wrong with it and he said it was sick mate. I again asked him what was wrong with it and he then told me it was good. When I questioned his turn-around, having just called it sick he just looked at me funny :?

Welcome to the joy of owning/driving a mini

I've had a few apart from the usual kids pointing as you pass them going down the street...

I had a car full of asian tourist in a hire car drive past me and whip out the video camera and proceeded to film me for a lengthy period until i put my foot down and got outta there :)

I've also had a VP commodore full of wogs hanging out the window one night yelling 'fully sick car mate'

I work at a Secondary College and after all the kids leave I move my car from the staff car park to near my office. The guys comment to there friends how good it looks (one moron yelled out that my car was crap... he's no longer alive :D ) but a couple of times I've had a couple groups of girls (years 10 & 11) come over and ask if they can have my car and how good it looks... nudge nudge wink wink say no more

back in about 97, i was staying down the gold coast at a fairly fancy hotel. we'd decided to have a small getaway after uni exams, and i took my car. this was back when it had the crap paint, and was rusty in spots. also staying at said hotel was a US college gridiron team, and the college cheersquad. they were out on a promotional tour, promoting the game, and playing against some of the australian teams.

the guys didn't really blink, but you should have seen the girls staring, pointing, and then eventually jogging over to have a look. lordy! they'd never seen an original Mini* before, and had never seen a car like it before in their lives. they all wanted photos of the car, with themselves in it. even one with my mate and i. sadly, i had no camera with me, and wasn't able to get a keepsake of the moment. but they'll always look back on their trip and remember my car!

* by original, i mean non-BINI. it is a Clubman ... don't want to get the roundie owners offside ;)
