Post subject:  Firewall insulation help needed

Hi,

I have been thinking of getting some of the original style firewall insulation.

My questions;
1) does anyone have pictures of what this stuff looks like installed?
2) Where do i get it from?

I am interested in Good Quality, (not looking to save money by using nanna's knitted blanket etc :lol: ) and not interested in using an alternative, unless the alternative looks really really good!

I'm trying to beat my score from last year's Muster :wink: :wink:

Cheers

Matt

Well, the firewall isn't as pretty as it used to be, so as well as giving a slight reduction in the cabin noise, the insulation might just move me up to a 7 :wink: :wink: Without having to fabricate a new speedo 'hole' cover or cover up a few other blemishes!

I got mine from minisport in Adelaide. It looks and is made as per original and the under bonnet material is also close to original.

matt,
I have a half a roll of the trim and an original pattern. Is very very close to the original trim for a MK 2. Happy to knock one up for you for cheap. PM me

Original to what is the question. Early roundnose is very different to Clubbie.

A local trimmer sells Holden Ute tonneau cover vinyl which is a spot on match to the early S stuff. You can add a bituminised felt backing which is better then the old pale coloured fibre stuff (which you can't see anyway :)

Cheers, Ian
