I have a little experance with Irridium Spark plugs.
I put a set of them into the Alfa 75 2litre twin spark and were great.
Time was Due to change them and put in the recomend plugs and as a lack of funds i'v had no joy.

Mini wise I'v also tried them..also didnt have a trouble with them. Since going back Morris is particular with the Fuel he likes

the info I got for which plug i need was from the a website..No don't ask me..but would I use them again if I had the Money..Yes

I had a set of Iridiums in the AU Fraud 4.0L. It went OK when bought S/H, but was drinking juice like a fish.
Pulled em out, found they had worn widened out to .080"+.
Being a cheapskate I closed them back up to .040", ran for a while and consumption was OK.
Then I tossed them out and put stock Bosch plugs in, found no difference.

Plugs is plugs, only important things in a road car IMO are the gap, and the heat range.

There is much `snake oil purveying' in relation to spark plugs.
And... electric turbos, fuel catalysts, polarisers, etc etc.

isn't iridium next to unobtainium on the periodic table?

Longevity was the original idea, good for striving for tripled service intervals. The precious metal is harder than the normal materials and can be more exposed in the chamber for less erosion.

Anything else is stuff and nonsense.
Focused spark, dual spark, magic beans, whatever.

Put them in, do some back to back testing and there won't be anything to justify a 25 dollar plug. Although some people will reckon they will.
