Ok the title is a lil misleading. Still in the painting process on Giovani but am considering stripes. He is 76 clubman. Were stripes done by the factory on clubmans? If so how were they done? e.g. two stripes down the middle? A stripe either side of bonnet? 2 stripes down one side? I have seen examples of all these over the years but wondered what the factory was if there was. Also noticed that stripes stopped at the back of the bonnet and not onto the sill panel, is this the correct way? I dont plan to stripe the roof. Also on the rear of mini's what is the norm for where the stripes run? Do they go from the bumper to the bottom of rear window? or should they extend to the valance etc. If anyone can post pics of their stripes it would be handy. I dont plan to paint the stripes prefer to have them done by a signs guy. Cheers Mark |

Cheers didnt ev en consider side stripes, might be an option. Still interested in bonnet/back of car stripes. |

I believe bonnet and roof stripes were designed to identify cars from the air, when racing them on the track. None had this from the factory, for road use.... AFAIK. |

They're all UK ones. No external hinges. That 1275GT (red one) isnt the GT stripes that the Aus ones had. Our aussie ones had the ones that the silver car did... across the bonnet. And also "gills" down the side, i'm pretty sure. Hope that helps. |

we know grant lol, it doesnt have stripes, my theory is, if its something you want then do it coz if u spend all ur time thinking of wat is origional or not u loose the real objective of the mini......... fun!!! |
