Bottom radiator hose clamp - which way is the best way to put it on to ensure access later on? Ie slotted nut facing upwards or downwards?

Upwards seems to foul on hydro tower potentially?

Engine is just sitting in the engine bay at present, so I can get access to it for the moment to correct if necessary. Pics might be helpful.

I have mine pointing up. I use a socket on a foot long 1/4 drive ratchet extension to undo it, and push my hand down between the radiator and the timing cover to put the hose back on after and place the clamp in position. Then the 1/4 drive ratchet with giant extension (or a long screwdriver) comes into play.

I think facing up with the screw on the clamp to the back is the easiest?

That's how mine is, I can reach it with a screwdriver if I have to.

OK, thanks everyone. Pointing up at the back seems to be the winner.
Ironically, it WAS like that and I went and changed it thinking it would foul on the hydro tower.
I'll have a stab at it tomorrow.

Yes , and I have a set of 18" long screwdrivers that are perfect for undoing it .

I'll keep that in mind, but it is a bit far to expect you to come down and lend them to me

If I remember where I got them from KB I'll send you the link , otherwise you'll have to send some homing ducks (pigeons would be too small to carry it) to take it down when you needed it :P
