Post subject:  weber question

Hey everyone,

2 Questions for you

Firstly. I am about to reinstall my weber and was wondering what is worth replacing and fixing up? It ran fine when it was in the car previously but whilst out I might as well put a kit through it. How hard is this? I am a bit reluctant to take it apart as I then will have to put it back together. Does anyone know a good place to get a weber refurbished in northern melbourne? Any idea on price?

Secondly. I am removing my vh44 brake booster and a hose runs from the manifold to this ( vaccum). Can I just plug this up with a brass plug like on the other side (see pic)? thoughts? The plug was in the other side but I took it out to paint them.

My build budget has got so over enlarged that it is thinking about rising from the sea and destroying Tokyo. I am now a super tight arse and am trying to save money where ever possible :)

Ill ask next time im over there.
should be sometime this week.
Mine got rebuilt when they bourght it for me.
I only payed $550 for the weber, manifold and the linkage kit plus the rebuild.
I cant see it being to much.
Ill ask for a price on a rebuild plus the normal stuff like the rubber mounts etc...if needed.
there were kits to rebuild a weber on ebay not so long ago...
arrrrrr he we go....

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/WEBER-40-42-45-D ... 7C294%3A50

and the rubber mount kit is listed also for only $22.00....not sure if thats a good price or not...and its redline brand..
Ill let you no..
