Post subject: | Alternator wiring |
Ever since I've upgraded to the Bosch 90Amp alternator I've used the heavy duty thick core coated wire that is used to power the starter motor as my alternator wiring (I had one spare from an old starter motor). Was just wondering whether there are any issues with using that wire as opposed to say a heavy duty 25Amp wiring. |

Nope, the thicker the better. I like using 4 or 6mm² marine tinned cable. But that Mini starter cable is good for around 250A... ![]() Mini Mad wanted some decent 3M long jumper leads. All the ones you can buy at the various Bling stores are rubbish. I made him a set, I used 25mm² welding cables with soldered brass lugs and 300A copper contact earth clamps (painted red and black) each end. |
