Are they worth a lot of $$$ ?

My in laws scored 2 on the weekend, and might want another 2 to complete the set.

They are pretty wide!! :D

Good original ones 4.5Jx10 used to go for $100 each.
If widened they are worth less....

oh...what is the standard width for S rims? 4.5in ?

Early UK S had 3.5s. All Oz S got 4.5s.

There are also `reverse' S wheels which have had the outer rim fitted backwards to an S centre. This allows them to be used on the common Minis with flat drums. These wheels are worth less than `proper' S ones.. of course!

yea?? I didn't know that. These ones must be widened then.

They don't look the same as standard rims do they....these ones don't anyway....

to save starting a new thread, I will hijack my own....

Do the fins on S rear drums really do anything?

A standard S wheel has the same offset as a Clubbie GT or Clubbie S (also 4.5") wheel. They are stronger around the stud holes though.

If you mean the ripples inside the spacer, that saves weight.
S drums don't have fins- you are looking at MiniFin drums. Alloy, aftermarket.
Face it- rear brakes do SFA anyhow on a Mini.

Jam
I have a couple of widened S rims I probably wont be using. They are chromed and they have minor surface rust but could be stripped etc. PM me if interested. Perhaps can do a parts swap for something else?

the last few sets of 4 on ebay have only fetched about $250.... I'm thinking of starting to hoard them. I bought a set of chromed ones a while ago, (used them at Wakefield for those who were there) the chrome is flaking off one, I'd like a replacement with good chome!

Skssgn, I'd be happy with flakey chrome ones... I want to paint them black and use hubcaps......
