| Post subject: | Brake limiting valve seal kits |
G'Day, Have been trying to purchase the two rubber seals that go into the valve. All tell me NLA, though they were around as late as a couple of months before Christmas. Has anyone been able to source anything to fit? My rear brakes are trying to lock up before the fronts get a chance to grip, does nothing for stopping efficiency.

Karcraft used to have Lockheed kit for the limiting valve, but now not listed. 
Give them a ring if you've not already..... 
What size rear wheel cylinders? If stocko 3/4" and you have discs on front, get some 5/8" bore S cylinders. |

G'Day Kevin, I'll give them another try tomorrow, but not confident. Rears are S's (small bore). The valve I modified has a PBR part number - made in Melbourne - but they are refusing to answer their emails, however I will try the PHONE next time. 
Failing any satisfaction, what alternative valves are there that can be used? What do the race guys do when "tuning" their brakes? Dino |

I tried to source this rebuild kit from MiniSpares in London last year with no luck, NLA. When I mentioned that one can buy a NEW adjuatable proportioning valve from them so new bits must be available, got no response. The adjustable valve is what most people use, once it's set though, dont need to touch it. Steve |

Are these not Survice Kits avalible as I have seen information (UK Mini Mag) that you can make them Adjstable. I'll prove info if some one ask |

The seal kit (seals & piston) was about 40 bucks. I've got a spare valve but I won't pull it apart if can't get seals. I'll leave it assembled, it `might' work if I need it. Barney has had his rear limiting valve surgically removed, and a Clubbie tandem brake system fitted, complete with one of those weird limiting valves (metric threads!) on the firewall.

G'Day Guys, Just spoke to PBR melbourne, technical dept., the only proportioning valve (and service kit) they now have is one for a HQ Holden, part number: P8573. Its adjustable and fittings are 3/8 inch by 24 UNF. I don't know what the standard fittings for the mini are? Anybody? May be simple as screw in brass adapters? Dino. |
