All Oz minis had a 1/4 BSP thread in the filter head, regardless of what filter type was fitted.
Mattsmadmini just bought a new spin-on one, and one of my 1/2" hydraulic hose kits. And found my 1/2 BSP x 1/4 BSP hose nipple fell right into it.
Thread in there appears to be an M14 fine thread or something.
I solved the problem by drilling and tapping it out to 5/8-18 UNF, the same as the block fitting.

I am posting this so people can BEWARE, your old Mini oil pipe flare nipple will not fit into these filter heads. Please check thread size before you buy.

cha....

all is cool now (doc re-machined it to fit)

just installing it now.... looks alright so far...

just a quick question,

with the new spin on head gasket, which way does it go on? with the blue rubbery heat thing to the front? or back?

Blue towards filter, but it doesn't really matter.
If I don't have one of these fancy ones I just cut one from gasket material.
