Hi, may be a silly question but are the mini utes modified mini's or orginal factory release? If modified, do you use a wagon or a sedan? ![]() |

There were factory pick up's (utes) availible elsewhere but not in Australia , I've heard there are a dozen or more original ones here but the majority you see will be cut down vans . The van and ute shared the same floor pan so it is an easy starting point . |

REAL Mini uses were made that way, in the UK. We never got them sold here. You can cut a van down to make one, but the back is sloping not vertical. |

What I find interesting is that they seem to all have the solid grill, would love to get my hands on one. http://trucks.about.com/od/classictrucks/ss/mini_truck.htm |

All UK commercial mini's (vans and pick-ups) had integral grilles up to a point , vans changed to removable grille before pick-ups did too but can't remember the dates .... |

It was all part of their standardised metal stamping , a van floor is the same as a pick-up floor , they just reshaped the pickup rear cab panel to suit the shape (which is something most people miss when they make one out of a van) of the van floor . |
