Don't get home till 7 tonight and can't make it tomorrow as I'm leaving at 7am for the Sunshine Coast - and won't be back till night. Can help Sunday afternoon it it's any help. Be a bit difficult without a hoist - do you have an overhead attatchment opoint for a hand winch?

You can use an engine crane, chain and tackle or drop out the subframe and lift the body over the engine. Your choice. Glad I don't have to do it lol.

No - dont lift it out by hand - its 300 kg (or what ever ??) and bending and lifting not only does damages to backs its also leads to people struggling and body panels getting damaged.

Go and hire an engine crane from a hire place or a mate. You will only need it for an hour if everything is truely undone.

Think this one through sensibly

Just get a small lenght of (strong) chain - about a foot is all you need. Find the centre forward facing head stud. The go to the ones either side of it and undo the bolts - slip the chain under the bolt and washer on each of those and do the bolts up so they wont slip undone.

Its not perfect but the motor will hang in about the right position to clear everything. Make sure you dont forget the earth cable to the body from the gearbox and dont forget to undo the speedo cable as you can get to as the engine lifts.

Ive got a block & tackle (endless chain) and a bracket if you want a lend of it , but you will need a beam on something to hang it off. I'm in burpengary if that helps.

find a piece of 5mm right angled metal and drill 2 holes in it. 1 for the head stud and the other for the D-shackle. then use mr. lifto to remove the engine
