You out there Rob??? Listen up!!

Went to another entertaining MG Car Club meeting tonight
(yeah...I know...don't ask!!)

Disturbing news re 30 years old colourtunes.....evidently the old plastics don't like modern unleaded fuel .....they melt!!!

BE WARNED :!: BE AFRAID, BE VERY AFRAID  :!:

Noted Mick - my last one was glass(I know this for a fact as one of my children tried to test its shatter resistance with a hammer...lol) but the new one is glass as well. I dont use the telescope thingy anyways so I should be right. Besides - as long as you clean it immediately it should hold up.

68 - the Gunsons Colortune is a device you substitute for a spark plug to show you the burn characteristics of your fuel/air mixture...quite handy trying to get the mixture right(esp with twins...Carbies that is)

hey, so there were ones made of plastic that you were supposed to stick down the head of a car which reached temperatures of over 600 degrees?

I used one this week.

Tested carbs 'as is' with colourtune and one was out. So I removed the dash pots and set both jets to -0.045" then replaced the dashpots and ran the colourtune plug again. Spot on.

Nice tool :D
