hey guys and gals i need to know what these holes are used for and if i need them befor i replace the floors. 1. front of the car floor. hi mate, The holes in the front, next to the exhaust tunnel (second pic) are the drainage holes, on complete cars there are plastic plugs to stop water getting in, but if by some chance (or if your car is my car...) it does get water in it, pull the plugs out and the water drains out. same for second last pic. no idea what the other things are, but they AREN'T jacking points... |

Tin plate things are originally there for fixing the body to trolley / production line skid in the factory, a steel tongue slots in to the tin sleeve. The diagonal ones at the rear of the floor are for Hydro protection plates, I would say your car is a 65 or 66 deluxe? 
The others do serve as drain holes, the plugs would have been rubber on this earlier car. |

The ones in front floors near tunnel are for Hydro protection plates also |

I'm confused it got a push button start but a remote And you have it up on its end

And you have it up on its end No push button start Jim. ALL Oz Minis got that floor bump, but only 850s got a hole in it and a switch.

hey guys thanks for all the help. the front floors are worse then what they look but you are right there not bad but not good enough, the car is going to be a show car (not a trailer queen) and its gonna have flat sheet steel floors with bracing on the inside for strengh and the floors will be painted same colour as the body. gafmo its not on its end its just they way the photo was taken it's on a rotisserie. cheers dan |

Early Coopers (997cc variety) use the hole where the 850 push starter button fits for a battery cable clamp mounting point. Keeps the battery cable well out of the way of remote shifts and exhausts etc. |

from a old post ages ago i think we worked out it was a 67 or earlier. these are the numbers if you wanna check. firewall 25944 radiator coul M205 25464. cheers dan |
