Hi, Does anybody know what badges should be on the back of my 1967 Mk1 Austin 850. I think you can get a sort of block writing Austin Mini or separate Austin and Mini script writing or Austin Seven in script (was this only on very early cars). I looked through google images but couldn't find anything which convinced me one way or the other. Cheers, Simon |

Hi Simon, I think the script "Austin Seven" was used on the early minis 61/62 then it went to Austin Mini.. (correct me if i'm wrong).. I could take a photo of the script of my austin seven if you like. I understand you can buy all these badges new from the uk... im sure i saw one of the big mini suppliers sell them in one of their catalogues. cheers Boink Austin850 wrote: Hi,

Hi Simon, Austin Mini in script writing is what should be on the boot of the car. BMC bowed to public pressure and the cars, regardless of make, were being referred to as Mini's. The change to Mini was made long before '67, but I can't recall exactly when. I'd guess at '62. I also think that "850" in this era was an Australian thing. Regards Al |

Great, thanks very much Boink and 66S. I debadged the front when I built the car but for some reason never filled in the rear holes before painting. I never knew what badges should have been on the car. I'll order some badges from the UK. I reckon that the script looks pretty classy, so all is good. Cheers, Simon |
