The RH tank was an option on the early build Cooper S, i think they were fitted std later on. im sure someone else will claify this.

It is possible for a Cooper S to have one tank.
But I think it has to be an English built car.

The Cooper (both the 998 and the 997) only have one tank.

All Oz made Cooper S had twin tanks.
However a handful of UK built cars came here for racers etc before late 1965, and the RH tank was an option in UK at that time.

Also worth remembering the 1071 cooper s (UK) only had one tank as well , get some numbers off it if you can to make sure .

if it's never been restored then it's easy to tell if it's a pommy one - it'll have sliding windows

If a UK car it will have slots in the roof gutter, not drilled holes.

If it is English and a Cooper S, it will have many distinguishing features.
