hello all i was wandering if there ever was a cooper 's' that only had one tank ever produced??? i know there was a 998 cooper but i have a mate who says he has a cooper s never been restored but yet only has 1 tank. it has all cooper s badging etc although havent checked body numbers etc..... what do you guys think? |

The RH tank was an option on the early build Cooper S, i think they were fitted std later on. im sure someone else will claify this. |

It is possible for a Cooper S to have one tank. But I think it has to be an English built car. The Cooper (both the 998 and the 997) only have one tank. |

All Oz made Cooper S had twin tanks. However a handful of UK built cars came here for racers etc before late 1965, and the RH tank was an option in UK at that time. |

Also worth remembering the 1071 cooper s (UK) only had one tank as well , get some numbers off it if you can to make sure . |

i think it must be one from the mother land becasue it was used for racing and is in remarkable condition for never being restored. ill have a look next time im there to clarify things. |

if it's never been restored then it's easy to tell if it's a pommy one - it'll have sliding windows |

If a UK car it will have slots in the roof gutter, not drilled holes. |

I race it, and it's never been restored! |
