I'm about to make a cone compressor a la the Doc's pattern.

I will have both thread types - imperial and metric

I have enough material to make two and the rod comes in 1 metre lengths so enough for 3

One for myself - one to sell plus a set of rods for someone to make their own.

I'll sell the second one for what ever it takes to buy the rods. I'll sell the spare rods for 1/3 the cost of the rods to cover my time and effort.

First in first served.

Well this proved to be an interesting exercise, but after costing this exercise I've decided it is cheaper to buy the tool from Mini Sport in Adelaide.

The 1/2" UNF HT rod was $93.50 a metre and no one makes the 14mm1.5 and even if I could get it it would be about the same price.

So for $110 for the tool with both sizes I figured it is the way to go.- and less hassle

Sorry for all those that PMed me but the thing fell in a heap

I use a bit of standard threaded rod, 3 nuts (one to turn, two to lock on the rod), a washer and a bit of plate.... not at all expensive!

Did that the first time - didn't like the look of the rod when I finished  Also the M14 1.5 is not made by the Australian Manufacturers according to their catalogue at two suppliers.
