Post subject:  Any photos of Mk1 boots?

Hi,

I want to tidy up the boot in my Mk1 67 deluxe but I'm struggling to find out how it came out originally.
I've only seen coopers with the boot board.

Was the deluxe the same?

Any links or photos would be great.

Cheers,
Mark.

The Deluxe didn't have a boot board or a mat.
They just had a spare wheel and a cardboard cover over the battery.

Simple and best way, well the way I did it was get a sheet of cardboard & cut it down to size. It will cover the spare and the Battery.. The templet enanbvled me to cover 2x6ml mdf with foam and vinyl and is good enought for me but other have gone a lot further tahn me

If propeded I'll take few pic's on the weekend

I dont know about 67's but here is the boot/trunk of my 65 Deluxe.

The rubber mat is fixed to the top edge of the hatch with 4 round black top metal clips that push into holes in the panel, the welded holes in the mat are reinforced with calico glued to the underside of the rubber.

The rest of the mat is 'loose' across the battery box lid and spare wheel, etc and slots in under the fuel tank to hold it in place.

The ribbed rubber mat is shaped to fit the interior of the trunk and has a inch wide non-ribbed band running around the outside of the entire mat. It has a part number stamped on the edge of the mat. On my car the mat was pretty fragile areound the edges where it is closest to the boot door and it had become brittle with age and probably heat build up.

As Ive not been able to find new ones the same or any NOS that might work, I've cleaned the rubber down, treated it and carried out repairs since this photo was taken all withthe aid of hot sun and localised heat to make it easy squeezy :D[/url]

If you are not too worried about originality, My suggestions would be use the boot mat similar to that used on the Clubman or use the cooper boot board ( not the Cooper S )and fittings
Mini King sell both these items as would other Mini Parts dealers

if originality isnt an issue just make your own, costs hardly any money at all!

Here is the current setup.
The usual mini accessories....
Flat tyre
Oil
Water
Worn Battery cover.

(what am I doing wrong to get the pics up correctly?)

Meeni,
That trimming looks the goods. I take it is mdf & felt?
Is it hinged at the back or fully removable.

John,
I'll send you a PM about the board. I also need a few other bits....

Cheers,
Mark

yeah its mdf and auto carpet that you get from bunnings, the mat just lifts out, you can sort of make out the highly technical broom handle support in the front..
