8 Minis of various persuasions boosted the numbers at an inter-club hillclimb at Morwell yesterday. Competition was very close with only a few 10ths of a second seperating the top 3 cars. Minis took out class wins in Improved production and Group N classes. ![]() ![]() |

And No 64 like to show how to do burnouts at the starts. Poor old starting official went home smelling of tyre smoke... ![]() |

I was in HDCC back then we never got invited there. ![]() Rules were different back then, HDCC, Thornleigh CC and MGCC used to run combined events. If your club was not invited you couldn't get a run. Of the circuits where we ran lap dashes, Katoomba was awesome. ![]() |

Catalina!!....Sart a lap in sunlight and half way round you had to turn the foglights on! I was in Cronulla Car Club and we ran at Silverdale fairly often. |

I used to run the Fiat there. A mate had an R100 that went indecently fast after I tickled its carby. Anyhow, it didn't handle worth a damn, but he was 2 secs faster than me, mostly thru the tunnel. So, I asked him how come it didn't pig understeer thru there like all R100s etc did.. He said "have you pumped the front tyres up?" `Yep' "Well, start letting the backs down then". ![]() I let them down to 18psi (had 32 in fronts I think) the difference was amazing- I could back off, chuck the back out and hold it there in 3rd gear. Whazzat? Oh... they call it drifting now.. I see! ![]() |
