Picked up the current Top Gear Australia mag from the supermarket (two for one deal with an old issue) and see it has an interesting article interviewing two of the orriginal drivers from the Italian Job for it's 40th anniversary . Neither of them have driven a mini since the filming .... heathens ...

Nice story about them driving home, though, getting done for speeding in a Mini with a boot full of fake gold.

The DVD I have of TIJ has a "special section" where there is a narrative of how they made the movie. Lots of interesting bits and especially the "bloody doors off".

Where, without any permission, they took the armoured car to a park in Tooting and used far too much explosive niaively and did more damage and a bigger bang than expected.

It had police and bystanders racing to the scene and a lot of explaining
