 Post subject: Cutting up bodywork

Does anyone know if any strengthening of the body is required on a mini when choppin it up into a ute? Been considering giving it a go but if i have to engy it i wont bother, cant afford that sorta stuff atm.

If you aren't going to do the job properly, don't do it at all.
I've seen too many minis ruined because somone cut the roof off and abandons the project later because they can't get it engineered because the job isn't done right.

I would do it properly, and I can do it properly, just want to know if it needs to be engineered or not. If it does, I cant afford to do it so it'll stay the way it is.

Yes it needs to be engineered - its changing the structure and the structural loads.

An authorised engineer should be the first port of call because if its not done to their standards then its just another wrecked mini.
