Anyone ever use the tint at home kits? How easy are they to use? Pitfalls to watch out for? How dark can you go?
I have all my glass out at the moment and thought it might be easier to tint them this way.

Also what are the legalities of running a 3-4 inch strip across front of windscreen?

Any info appreciated
Cheers

I was in the exact same situation with all my glass out. I looked at buying some film from ebay...was just about to bid and then was told about metal film Vs cheap film.

The cheap stuff goes purple after about 6 months....not a good look.

Personally I don't think you will be better off buying some decent film and do yourself. If you took your glass to a pro and had them do it, would be the easiest and probably the best job.

I WAS going to do that.....but then no one could see my swanky interior....so I went without.

G'Day Minimark,
My new laminated windscreen came with a pre-tinted strip that fades out as you look further down. Done by manufacturer as part of the glass work. Not sure about stick on strips though.... O'brien glass installed it as well, cost me $220 (it was an emergency  and a cheap part for a mini  ) and I feel much safer without the scratched and pitted 40 year old toughened glass. But supply your own rubber channel and locking strips, their stuff is not the correct profile.
