just thought i'd let people know of a few articles featuring articles on Mini's 50th bday.
Granted- these are magazines i picked up in my recent travels, so may not be found in Australia, but still worth a mention i think
Also i thought if anyone else has found any other recent articles, they could be posted in here?
German Magazine- Old and Young timer
English Magazine (pretty sure it was a weekly one, so may not still be available)- Auto Express
has this mini mag inside
pretty decent read inside with some good photography (and photoshop
)
Watto recently had his (great) edition of the Mini experience which was a special 50th edition i think
(SHAMELESS PLUG) 
Mini magazine, and mini world both seem to be acknowledging this YEAR as mini 50th, but wasn't there a special edition for both of those mags??
