http://www.ausmini.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=44289 I pick up one of these dirt cheap as they were on 'clearance' for $11 - has been replaced with a plastic one for around $40 When I got mine there were only 4 left in Queensland and 15 in Australia in Repco store. I had to go to Beenleigh to get it. Beaudesert also had 2. Might pay to give a ring if thay haven't gone already ( was 3 months ago) |

if your going for orginality go ahead, otherwise I would just rip the tap out and plumb it straight to the radiator in the unit which makes the water flow continualy. This does not have any affect on the heat inside the cabin unless you have the heater fan on. This cost $0 |

plumbing it straight thorough can be a pain in a clubby with a fresh air vent still in place. The car forces air through the heater regardless. it makes your feet pretty toasty in summer... I picked up a later rover valve once, the inlet and outlet are designed for the next size heater hose up, but can be made to fit if you really want to. http://www.minispares.com/Product.aspx? ... You can fit a generic heater tap anywhere along the hose. Holden and Ford have both used cable operated heater taps in their cars and good spare parts places carry them. Plumbing the heater straight will be a pain. According to the handbook the fan is only meant to be used at low speeds as there is sufficient airflow when moving at speed. |

My heater doesnt have a tap, and my toes used to get quite toasty on long drives with the fresh air vent. Since removing the pipe connecting the fresh air to the heater its a lot better, but its still noticeable without shoes on. The other problem i have is, i was going to fit the piping for the front screen back into the car, but thought it might make my window fog up in certain conditions. This could probably be rectified by hooking up the cable for the flap in the heater, but i'm a bit lazy and its low down on the to do list. |

Hey Morris that one would be direct replacement wouldnt it - No changing anything around, because the old kingswood used exactly the same tap as the clubman/leyland mini didnt they?? |

I don't know if it is exactly the same. I think the heater hose may be the next size larger. But you can make it fit and it is cheaper. Should I go out to the shed and measure a Clubman one? |

I believe that clubman heater connections use 1/2 inch heater hose, and the later rovers use 5/8th. It might be the same for later commodore heater hoses as well. It shouldn't be too difficult to stretch the hose over however if you use rubber grease and/or heat the hose. |

Sorry to bring up this old thread but did anyone ever find out if there was a good replacement for the Clubman heater tap as mine is seized! thanks |
